Mr. Lang brings several insurance carrier options and pricing to the table during our budget process so that the Town can make a well-informed decision each year. He offers his honest opinion on each carrier and has led us each year to the best decision for our employees with our budget restraints in mind. They have assisted the Town over the years in evolving with the times to a mostly paperless enrollment process for our 25 employees.

My name is Bill Bailey. I’m the town administrator for the town of Newland. I am privileged to offer the highest praise and recommendation for Ken Lang and the Robert Taylor Group.
When I started at the town of Newland, our insurance benefits provider was not very responsive when I called to ask questions. They answered the phones but always had to forward me to someone who never answered the calls and only provided information via email.
As a result of this lack of service I began looking for a new benefits administrator and we were fortunate enough to meet Ken Lang and the Robert Taylor group. Ken took the time to talk to us about our concerns and our issues. The Robert Taylor Group reviewed the coverages the town had, then came up with a plan that would help the town employees understand the coverages and the benefits choices employees had.
Ken took the time to explain the benefits portal to staff. The benefits portal has been a tremendous help in explaining to employees what they have and don’t have in terms of benefits — clearly showing what employees opted out of. The portal just makes everything crystal clear, which gives the employees a sense of understanding of their entire benefits package.
One thing that Ken and his group do is to frequently ask what we need. They genuinely want to know what success looks like for the town and then the group goes out to solve that issue. I was lamenting to Ken about our payroll/time keeping system. The vendor we use is inaccessible by phone or email. The timeclock app they provided only works about 60% of the time, which requires the finance officer to frequently go in and manually override the time. Ken and the Robert Taylor Group were able to find another payroll vendor for us that provides better reliability and service and saves the town some money as well.
In closing, Ken Lang and the Robert Taylor group are amazing. They take the time to listen to our needs and find workable solutions. They care about helping the town run more efficiently and effectively. They frequently “check-in” with town and provide us with a great service. All these qualities in one organization are rare, but the Robert Taylor Group nails it. I highly recommend Ken Lang and the Robert Taylor group.

The Town of Manteo recently partnered with The Robert Taylor Group (RTG) as our Benefits Administrator and I’d like to share our experience during this transition.

When first contacted by Ken Lang from RTG, we were in the process of changing Finance Directors and partnering with an employee benefits administrator was not on my radar. He understood but offered to follow up once I had enough time to get situated in my new position. Him and his team did follow through with getting back in touch with us and held our hand during the process of setting up our account with RTG as well as helping us partner with a payroll processing company that coordinates with their team. They were on-site during our open enrollment and personally met with each employee to ensure they understood their benefits and how any changes or exclusions affected them.

Since then, Ken and his team at RTG have been nothing but helpful with any questions or concerns we’ve encountered. I would recommend their services to any municipality that is looking for a Benefits Administrator. Not only were they there at the beginning of obtaining our account, but have been consistently there every step of the way since.
