COBRA Services
COBRA allows the employee to continue their group health insurance if the group coverage ends. The employee would have to purchase the coverage at the full monthly cost. If the employer has at least 20 employees, the employer is subject to COBRA. COBRA does not apply to health plans sponsored by the federal government or by churches. If the employer has less than 20 employees, then state continuation (mini-COBRA) laws may apply to allow employees to continue their coverage.
